7 Ways to Solve your Insomnia

Survey shows that around 15% of people have difficulties of sleeping at night. Many of those people then need help by taking some sleeping pills which can lead to dependency or addiction in the future.

Actually there are some simple approach that can be done to solve that insomnia problem. Try to practice these 7 steps to induce faster and better sleep at night.

Cozy bedroom

Our bedroom supposed to be the most comfortable place where we spend around 6-8 hours every night to get some rest. Unfortunately, bedroom often gets "malfunction" because most people nowadays do many things in their bedroom as if it is their "second office".

That's why one of the most important factor to induce sleep is to make our bedroom as cozy as possible, so that when we enter it we want to get to bed and fall asleep.

Stay away from laptop

Activities such checking emails or watching movies before sleep will stimulate our brain to do interaction with such activities we are doing. This will prevent us from getting sleepy enough to start to sleep. So stay away from your laptop or TV or any other electronic devices while you are on bed.

Perfect bed

Choose the perfect bed that will support your posture while sleeping, and also choose the right pillow to support your head and neck. Cotton fabric is the most favorite choice for the bedsheet.

Clock away

Clock or alarm is indeed important. But the fluorescent light from the alarm and the "tic-toc" sound from the clock will make ourselves alert and it will prevent us to get asleep.

Turn off light

Research has shown that dark room will help someone to induce faster sleep and also a quality one. This is related with our circadian rythm inside our body and melatonin hormone which is responsible for our sleeping cycle.

For people who doesn't like sleeping in the dark, dimmed light can also be the option.

Aromatherapy

Lighting up some aromatherapy candles 30 minutes before sleep can help our body and mind to relax, and it will help to get our body prepared for sleeping time.

Warm milk before sleep

A glass of warm milk will help someone to sleep faster. This is not a myth. Scientifically, milk contains tryptophan, an amino acid which can help induce sleep.
